A Joyful Summer Fête at Waterloo Care Home: A Day to Remember

On Saturday, 17th August 2024, Waterloo Care Home hosted its annual Summer Fête, and it was a resounding success! The event brought together residents, their families, staff, and the local community for a day filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt memories. The day’s activities raised an impressive £701, all of which will go towards enhancing the lives of the care home’s residents, day trips and activities.

A Day of Community Spirit and Generosity

Raising Funds for a Good Cause

The Summer Fête at Waterloo Care Home was a shining example of community spirit. Donations for the event came from various sources, including staff, relatives of the residents, and local businesses. These generous contributions made the event’s fundraising efforts a huge success.

Raffle: The Raffle was a highlight of the day, raising £172.00

Tombola: Another crowd favourite, the Tombola, contributed £148.00 to the total.

Name the Bear: This charming game captured the hearts of many, raising £61.00

Local Music and Entertainment

The atmosphere was truly brought to life by Upbeat, a local band from the Biddford community. Their performance of old, memorable songs resonated with the residents and guests alike, bringing back fond memories and encouraging many to sing along. The joy on the faces of the residents as they tapped their feet and danced to the music was truly heartwarming.

The Summer Fête was more than just a fundraising event—it was a day of connection and celebration. Families of residents, staff, and members of the local community came together to enjoy the festivities. There was no shortage of entertainment, with singing, games, and dancing throughout the day.
