A Joyful Summer Fête at Waterloo Care Home: A Day to Remember

On Saturday, 17th August 2024, Waterloo Care Home hosted its annual Summer Fête, and it was a resounding success! The event brought together residents, their families, staff, and the local community for a day filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt memories. The day’s activities raised an impressive £701, all of which will go towards enhancing the lives of the care home’s residents, day trips and activities.

A Day of Community Spirit and Generosity

Raising Funds for a Good Cause

The Summer Fête at Waterloo Care Home was a shining example of community spirit. Donations for the event came from various sources, including staff, relatives of the residents, and local businesses. These generous contributions made the event’s fundraising efforts a huge success.

Raffle: The Raffle was a highlight of the day, raising £172.00

Tombola: Another crowd favourite, the Tombola, contributed £148.00 to the total.

Name the Bear: This charming game captured the hearts of many, raising £61.00

Local Music and Entertainment

The atmosphere was truly brought to life by Upbeat, a local band from the Biddford community. Their performance of old, memorable songs resonated with the residents and guests alike, bringing back fond memories and encouraging many to sing along. The joy on the faces of the residents as they tapped their feet and danced to the music was truly heartwarming.

An Incredible Day of Fun and Togetherness

The Summer Fête was more than just a fundraising event—it was a day of connection and celebration. Families of residents, staff, and members of the local community came together to enjoy the festivities. There was no shortage of entertainment, with singing, games, and dancing throughout the day. The smiles, laughter, and joy shared among everyone present were a testament to the strong bonds that exist within the Waterloo Care Home community.

We’ve had an incredible few weeks full of fun and engaging activities here at Waterloo Care Home! Our wonderful residents, have been busy enjoying a variety of events that keep them active, happy, and well. 💖
🌸 Flower Arranging 🌸 – The creativity and vibrant colours have brought so much joy and beauty to our home. It’s amazing to see the artistic talent blooming!
🍰 Baking Jam Tarts 🍰 – Sweet treats and even sweeter smiles! Our kitchen was filled with delicious aromas as residents baked and shared their tasty creations.
🏀 Ball Games 🏀 – We had a blast with some friendly competition! These activities help with coordination and keep everyone moving and laughing.
🌳 Trip to the Village 🌳 – Fresh air and a change of scenery were just what we needed. Exploring the village together strengthened our sense of community and adventure.

Waterloo Care is a residential care service in Bidford-On-Avon. We provide a range of care and support services for our older residents, which include those living with dementia.

Our aim is to find people with the values, behaviours and attitudes that match our own at Waterloo Care.

We are looking to recruit Care Assistants to join our family team – could this be you?

You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, or qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent carer.
